Ray M. HARDIN, 66, of Crandall, Georgia died April 25, 2002, in Chatsworth, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ollie S. Hardin; and a brother, Billy Hardin. Survivors include his wife, daughters, son & daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and a sister. Funeral services were held April 27, 2002 at Peeples Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in the Boanerges Cemetery in Polk County, Tennessee. Peeples Funeral Home of Chatsworth was in charge of the arrangements.

Margaret Catherine HARRIS, 87, widow of Thomas J. Harris, died yesterday afternoon at her home, 1600 East 12th Street, after several weeks of illness. Had she lived until August 19th she would have been 88 years old. Mrs. Harris was born August 19, 1859 in Murray County, Georgia, one of six children of Samuel Anderson Keith and Mrs. Malinda Miller Keith. She was married in 1879 to the late Thomas Jefferson Harris, also of a family of pioneer settlers in north Georgia. They lived in Murray and Whitfield counties in Georgia until they moved to Chattanooga in 1899. Mr. Harris practiced law in Chattanooga until his death in 1924. Mrs. Harris had been an active and faithful member of the Baptist Tabernacle since coming to Chattanooga. She joined the Holly Creek Baptist Church in Murray County as a child. Nine children survive. They are Anderson W. Harris, Dawson B. Harris, Keith J. Harris, Freeman R. Harris, and Sam D. Harris of Chattanooga; Mrs. R. E. Lansford, Lakeland, Florida; Maynard J. Harris, Atlanta; James E. Harris, Knoxville; and Mrs. G. C. Robinson, Mobile, Alabama. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Baptist Tabernacle, Long and 21st Streets, Thursday at 2:30 pm., the Rev. C. H. Petty officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery. The body is at the Page-Hancock Funeral Home.

Lorene Baxter HEADRICK, 89, of Crandall, died Monday, May 20, 2002, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Kenneth Headrick; parents, Dave and Florence Bookout Baxter of Crandall; one son-in-law, Billy Ball; and one great-grandson, Infant Arleigh. Survivors include six daughters & sons-in-law, four sons & daughters-in-law, 36 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, three sisters, three brothers, one niece, one nephew, and a special caregiver and friend. Services are Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairy Valley Cemetery. Peeples Funeral Home of Chatsworth wes in charge of arrangements.

Ralph Alonzo HENSON, 80, of LaFayette, Georgia, departed this life Saturday evening, July 23, 2011 at the Murray Medical Center in Chatsworth, Georgia. Ralph was born February 21, 1931 in Paulding County, Georgia, a son of the late Riley J. Henson and Opal V. Culberson Thompson. He was a retired school bus driver for Whitfield County Schools. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Irene �Libby� Sanders Henson, second wife, Lois Thompson Causey Henson, sons, Thomas �Tommy� Henson, Reverend Charlie Henson and Dennis Henson. He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law: three stepchildren; two brothers; two sisters; thirty seven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Ralph A. Henson were held Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home. He was laid to rest beside his beloved wife at the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Rocky Face, Georgia. Arrangements were by Ponders Funeral Homes, 138 Melrose Drive, Dalton, GA. 706-226-4002.

Dora Lowery Kilgore HUNTER, 69, of Kingston, Rte. 1, died Wednesday [May 16, 1962] morning. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. Paul WILLIS, and the Rev. P.L. WALKER officiating. Interment will be in Kingston cemetery [Bartow Co., GA]. The body will lie in state at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. Clyde MATHIS, 107 Avenue F, Lindaye, until 1:30 p.m. Friday when the cortege will leave for services. Six grandsons will serve as pall-bearers and include Clyde ROBERSON, Wesley HOUSE, and Edward, Billy, Charles and J.M. KILGORE. Mrs. HUNTER was born in Murray County, Nov. 2, 1892, daughter of the late Thomas and Jane (JOHNSON) LOWERY and had spent the greater part of her life in Floyd and Bartow Counties. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Her first husband, William L. KILGORE, died Dec. 5, 1945, and she later married R.T. HUNTER, Sr., who died March 23, 1957. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Clyde MATHIS, Mrs. H.D. WALTERS, Atlanta, and Mrs. Ida Lee GILLILAND, Kingston Rte. 1; three sons, H.S. KILGORE, Kingston Rte. 1, Thomas Woodrow KILGORE, Trion Rte. 1, and Kenny J. KILGORE, Silver Creek Rte. 1, three step-sons, George KILGORE, Crossville, Ala., Price A. KILGORE, Kingston Rte. 1, and R.T. HUNTER, Calhoun Rte. 1; four step-daughters, Mrs. Herman JONES, Rome, Mrs. Nellie KILGORE, Trion Rte. 1, Mrs. Mamie ROGERS, Norfolk, Va., and Mrs. Edith PAYNE, Adairsville Rte. 1; three sisters, Mrs. C.C. COX, McLOUD, Okla., Mrs. Maude ROE, Rome Rte. 3, and Mrs. Robert ROE, Chatsworth; three half-sisters, Mrs. Herman REEVES, Rome Rte. 6, Mrs. Grace WOOTEN, Rocky Face, and Mrs. Delaney FOWLER, Chatsworth; three half-brothers, Thomas, Jack and Malcolm LOWERY, of Dalton; 63 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Jennings Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
